Hull Modeling & Fairing – Basic
This course, intended for ship, yacht and small craft designers, covers the foundations of NURBS-based hull surface modelling, including hydrostatics concepts of displacement, buoyancy and waterplanes. From concept sketch to assessing hull fairness, different hull types are reviewed: fairbody sailing hull, hard-chine, bulbous-bow displacement.

- Introduction to SubDivision modelling in relation to hull design
Software of reference: Rhino3D, Orca3D
Course venue / delivery mode: live web sessions
Duration : 5 x 2 hours, total 10 hours
Prerequisites : basic knowledge of Rhino3D (any version), understanding of basic hydrostatics
