This course, intended for naval architects and ship designers, covers the preparation of a full probabilistic damaged stability analysis, as per SOLAS regulations. Cargo & passenger vessels are both addressed.
Syllabus
- SOLAS damaged stability since 2009.
- Ship geometrical model
- Permeabilities and critical points
- Divisions, decks and wing bulkheads
- Chapter 8 & 9, bottom and side damage
- Chapter 7 probabilistic

Duration : 5 x 2 hours, total 10 hours
Prerequisites : notions of hydrostatics and naval architecture
